Seeking experienced, professional, licensed Chief Engineers

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
-Responsible for all machinery, electrical and technical areas of the vessel.
-Responsible to the Captain for ensuring all applicable legal rules and conventions under his control are strictly observed.
-Responsible to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out under all engineering areas in order to -reduce repair and maintenance costs and eliminate down time.
-Responsible for all engineering aspects of the ISM manual.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-Familiar with all engineering areas and machinery
-Ensure that main engines and associated machinery including electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning units on board the ship are operating efficiently
-Keep detailed engine room logs noting all failures, maintenance and repair done to equipment
-Carry out regular maintenance on main engines and similar equipment, repair defective auxiliary equipment, implementing and keeping current on a preventative maintenance schedule
-Maintain engine room stores and record usage of parts and equipment
-Ensure the operations of the vessel does not lead to pollution
-Supervise major work while the ship is in port

-Experience in research or vessel support industry
-STCW 95 Certification
-Results-oriented, self-starter with a high level of initiative
-Strong ability to organize and communicate with others
-Strong work ethics, values and principles with safety the first priority

Description:

Duties:

• The Anchor Foreman is responsible for preparing anchors, buoys, pennant wires and damage prevention buoys during barge mobilization.

• He is responsible for checking the barge mooring system i.e. anchor winches and anchor wires and report findings to the Barge Foreman.

• He will be in charge of the tower operation, running anchors and the movement of the barge on its anchors.

• Responsible for planning and plotting anchor positions in accordance with the approved anchor pattern or without it when anchor pattern is not available.

• Assisting Barge Foreman in setting up the barge on work location.

• He should make a frequent check on anchor buoys and pennant wires and position of anchors when barge is operational.

• He should assist the Barge Foreman with the deck activities whenever there is no anchor running activities.

Requirement:

*Technical high school or diploma or equivalent.

*Minimum 5-7 years experience of which 3 years must be as Anchor Foreman in offshore construction barges

*Proven experience with offshore construction companies

*Fluent in English
